Shop Local
My favorite local Minnesota shops for holiday shopping.
We committed to shop 100% small this year. And are trying to keep it about 90% local. This is my personal plea for you to do the same because let’s be honest…we don’t want to give our money to big corporations anymore and keeping our money small keeps small businesses afloat. I personally know almost every owner of these shops and I have to say that they are truly some of the best humanity has to offer. Support them!
The Foundry Home Goods (Photo below)
This is probably my favorite home store….in the world. Everything about it is perfection. All of the wood, beeswax, glassware, wooden children’s toys. Just all of it!

Actually this might be tied for my favorite home store and it is just two doors down from The Foundry. Gorgeously curated new and old objects for you home. Pillows and rugs to die for.
Timeless, sophisticated and feminine clothing. Truly wonderful pieces! And their new physical shop is so stunning!
This is THE place if you are looking for a gift for yourself or someone else. Soaps, candles, SOCKS, clothing, and just all the cutest bits and bobs.
The tiniest and most otherworldly little fragrance shop. So thoughtfully curated and full of magic.
Restored mid-century Danish furniture and some beautiful and functional home goods. They also have a wonderful children’s section with toys and books for your littles.
Open since 1921 this Swedish butcher shop and gift shop is a national treasure. It’s hard to put into words how truly magical this place is, it feels like a step back in time. We go every Christmas to stock up on all of our Swedish treats. Make sure you don’t miss their textile and children’s shop one door down too!
Beautiful estate and gardens turned garden store. With a cozy little shop filled with seeds, bulbs, home goods, garden tools, books, aprons and more. Worth a visit just to stroll through the gardens!
The best toy store full of the most creative and well made toys. They also have a wonderful book selection!
A new whimsical home goods store in downtown Minneapolis. Definitely worth a visit!
My son’s favorite place in the world. A magical children’s bookstore that is also the home of two cats, several birds and a chinchilla or two. There staff is so kind and passionate about children’s literature.
A little bodega perfect for all of the food lovers in your life. I could spend hours pouring over their sauces, jellies, jams, crackers, chocolates, etc etc. They also have a beautiful candle and puzzle selection.
Indigenous owned and operated bookstore. A wonderfully curated collection highlighting native and bipoc authors. And like all independent bookstores they can order almost any book for you even if it isn’t carried in store. I like to call with my list of books and they typically have them in store in under a week! So SO much better than ordering through Amazon!
Might include some other small businesses that are not local to me in my December guide! Who should I include?

Love this, thanks for a reminder of all the wonderful shops we have in town!! I do love Heather Taylor from LA, her table linens are terrific!
